Peace & Serenity
Stewton House is a private Nursing Home owned by the F.A. Would Group which is based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.
Stewton House is situated on the eastern fringe of the market town of Louth, in Lincolnshire. The house is a magnificent period house positioned at the end of a sweeping drive amidst extensive grounds and surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. The F.A. Would Group acquired the home in November 1999 when it underwent a major sympathetic refurbishment programme.
Peace of Mind
The responsibility for the overall home management is taken by our on site manager with our appointed nurse in charge leading the nursing team. Prior to admission clients are invited to meet the nursing manager to discuss their nursing requirements and for their nursing needs to be assessed.
Once admission is arranged a provisional plan of care is drawn up and our staff are made aware of the contents. This plan will include a moving and handling assessment by our visiting physiotherapist. Our physio-aide will continue the programme under the supervision of the physiotherapist. The client’s care is reassessed on a regular basis and alterations to the care are made to reflect the client’s changing needs.
Although it is necessary to work to a routine, our philosophy is to create as far as possible, a non institutional environment.
Visitors are welcome any time after 10.00am and may take refreshments with their relatives. Visitors are asked to sign the visitors book at the front entrance before visiting and when leaving the building.
The majority of our well proportioned bedrooms have en-suite toilet facilities and all have television and direct dial telephones.
Local calls are free.
All laundry is carried out on the premises under the supervision of the housekeeper. We prefer clothes to be named prior to admission but this can be arranged at the home. A charge is made for dry cleaning.
Menus are compiled by the chef in charge and are changed seasonally. Daily, each client is asked by the staff on duty for their menu choice and advice is given for those on specific diets.

A social activities programme is drawn up by staff for those wishing to participate. These are in the form of concerts, music and movement, visiting performers, daily activities such as board games and group activities.
There is a raised garden area for residents who wish to pursue their gardening hobbies, and a sensory garden for the visually impaired.
We have an in house masseur and visiting physiotherapist. To complement this service we have a hydrotherapy unit. A hairdresser and chiropodist visit regularly. A charge is made for these services. Ministers from a variety of denominations visit clients in the home and Communion is served periodically by a Church of England Minister.
We have a recreational vehicle that is used for outings and hospital appointments. The vehicle may be used by suitably insured relatives to transport residents. A charge is made to cover fuel costs.
Accounts are rendered monthly from our Head Office in Grimsby. It is preferable that a standing order arrangement is made for accommodation fees.
